Details on CityTools signup
previous page

The account set-up page asks for five pieces of information:
  • An e-mail address. This needs to be a valid e-mail address because we send an account validation e-mail to it. We use this e-mail address solely for user logins and it is never shared with others.
  • An alias – this is a “screen name” used to identify the account because we never show member e-mail addresses anywhere on CityTools.
  • A password – of course!
  • Your postal code. We use this for various geo-filtering purposes within the system. At the moment, we maintain a database of postal codes throughout the US, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. For the moment, if you are outside these countries, use 00000
  • The image test: you have to enter the text of an image before we will accept your sign up. This to prevent people from using web robots to set up dummy accounts.
