Best Dog Parks on the Peninsula

Here is a list of the best dog parks on the Peninsula. Many of them are off-leash and most are shaded.

1Seal Point Dog Park in Shoreline Park, San Mateo

This 3- acre park is located on J. Hart Clinton Drive, off of 3rd Street toward Foster City. There are two structure to provide shade and benches. Rabbits can be found throughout the hillside. This park sits on a former city dump.

2Foster City Dog Park

This park can be found on Bounty Drive, off of Foster City Blvd. There is a small dog and a large dog park - both with double gates. There is water for dogs and humans, plus plastic bags. There are no shade trees.

3San Bruno Dog Park, San Bruno

This dog park is at Commodore and Cherry Drive, off of El Camino. This park has plenty of shade, scoopers and plastic bags - plus drinking water for dogs and humans. However, the SFO runway is less than 2 miles away and it can be very loud here.

4Hoover Park Dog Run, Palo Alto

Hoover Park can be found on Cowper between Loma Verde and Colorado. This is a great park for small dogs, is fenced and in a grove of trees.

5Sunnyvale Dog Run in Los Palmas Park, Sunnyvale

This park is located on Spinoza, off of Remington. This fenced park is small but has several large redwoods.

6Cipriani Dog Park, Belmont

This park is located behind Cipriani School, at Buena Vista and Monserat, off of Cipriani. You can find water and scoopers here, plus the Belmont Bowser Club holds potlucks in the park to promote animal welfare.

7Redwood Shores Dog Park, Redwood City

This park is located on Radio Road off of Redwood Shores Parkway. There are a separate small dog and large dog parks. This park can be very windy. Lagoons run on either side of the park and bring sea birds.

8Burlingame Dog Park, Burlingame

This park is located on Airport Blvd. near Anza. It has plastic bags and water located at the farthest distance from the gates. This park is located near the water treatment facility, and is adjacent to the Bay so it is very breezy. There is no separate area for small dogs.

9Mountain View Dog Park, Mountain View

This park can be found on North Road off of Shoreline. It has separate enclosures for large and small dogs. There are scoopers and plastic bags, plus drinking water for humans and dogs.

10Coastside Dog Park, Half Moon Bay

Coastside is located at the end of Wavecrest Road off of Cabrillo Highway. This temporary park was opened in 2001 and its maintenance is provided by private citizens. The park is fenced, has plastic bags and picnic tables.
