Meet Caye Gray of Greenbrae, who has just finished filling 89 gift bags to be given to homeless Marin women this Christmas.

Gray has been making gifts for the homeless since 1972. Twelve years ago, she began assembling gift bags - one for each year of her life.

This year, she says - gazing at the array of red-and-green-trimmed bags in her Tamalpais retirement home apartment - will be her last.

"Eighty-nine," she says in wonderment. "That seems like enough."
