A former POW, Philip Butler challenges McCain's mental fitness for the job, pointing to his well-known bouts of irrational temper. And this guy knows McCain -- his cell was right across the hall from McCain.

While this has echoes of John Kerry being "swift-boated" there's a major difference here: McCain has made his military service the SINGLE justification for his candidacy. McCain has refused to release his military records (perhaps to suppress mental fitness issues?) and McCain pressed to have North Viet Nam seal POW records (now why would a US Senator ask for that???/)
