The San Francisco network engineer who is facing four felony charges of computer tampering could end up costing the city $1 million, according to the city's Department of Technology.

Terry Childs is accused locking his bosses at the technology department out of the system and refusing to hand over the password he had created. Prosecutors allege that Childs planned a meltdown of the city's computer network.
